Ryoichi Keroppy Maeda
As a journalist reporting on body modification and cutting-edge culture worldwide, Keroppy is known for introducing “bagel head” to Japan. His activities have also become a hot topic since being featured on the popular TBS TV program “Crazy Journey.” From 2005, he began holding exhibitions as an artist and curator, and his major publications include “Crazy Culture Travelogue” (Kadokawa), “Reviving Japanese Ancient Tattooing Art Project, Jomon Tribe” (Kokushokankokai), “Modcon Complete Version,” “Modified Future” and “Trepanation Sourcebook” (all three published by Future Works). Together with tattoo artist Taku Oshima, he promotes the art project “Jomon Tribe,” which aims to revive ancient Japanese tattooing.
