Loveletter to the Coil 2.0
Some “Principles of finetuning” and how to get started
After several years of the initial class “Loveletter to the coil” and the open tinkering workshop-space from my colleague CaroLey and me at BMX, i wanted to give this class a little shift and twist towards the most frequently asked question:
Which machine set-up do i need for XY [please insert your desired result 😉 ]
A quick and unpleasant answer so far was: we don’t know – it depends. The new and still unpleasant answer will be: it still depends; but primarily it depends on who you ask and how detailed your question is.
In this case: you ask me. (Don’t worry, I will also ask you back!)
My goal in this newly hatched class is to give you a better understanding about my discovered principles closely related to the work I offer.
My wish in this Seminar is also to use and to talk through -again and again- the already gained knowledge about important variables like geometry, weight, springtuning etc which have a direct effect on the way we can use our tattoo machine for already seen and probably new techniques.
From apprentices to tattooers that are way longer in the business than me, I would like to welcome all of you to have a discussion as diverse and hopefully contradictory as possible. Maybe in the middle of emerging questions and insights from the discourse you convince me to swap Blackwork with Fineline or maybe you come closer to what you consider your own style in the tattoo industry.
