Jesús “Sala” Cabanas

Jesús Cabanas, known to most as “Sala”, began his journey as a full-time professional piercer in the early 2000s in the Canary Islands. From the very beginning, his passion for piercing was matched by a drive to learn, evolve, and elevate the standards of his craft.

After a few years working in Spain, Sala started traveling the world to learn from leading professionals and pioneers in the industry. His first trip to the United States in 2007 was a turning point—he immersed himself in the global piercing community and deepened his education by studying nursing, focusing on sanitary techniques, pain therapy, and anesthesia to better understand the body and improve the safety and comfort of his procedures.

In 2012, Sala moved to Oslo, Norway, and joined forces with Christiane at Pinpoint Piercing, one of the earliest APP member studios in Europe. There, he became a key part of the team, continuing to hone his techniques and share his knowledge with clients and colleagues alike.

A proud member of the Association of Professional Piercers (APP) since 2015, Sala has since become a respected educator and international speaker. He has taught at conferences across the globe, including in the USA, Spain, Germany, Poland, Sweden, the UK, Argentina, Brazil, Italy, Mexico, India, Japan, and Portugal, and at events such as APP, LBP, APPE, GeP, PPP, UKAPP, JPPA, APP-PT, BMXnet, YOUMODIFY, and APA Ritorno alle Origini.

That same year, he co-founded the APPE (Asociación de Perforadores Profesionales de España), where he served as vice president, international liaison, and organizer of the annual conference. His work helped strengthen the Spanish piercing community and build bridges with sister organizations across the world.

Today, Sala continues to balance his role as a senior piercer at Pinpoint Piercing, board director of the APP, international speaker, and mentor—sharing over two decades of experience with the next generation of professionals.
