Hilary Whitmore is the Human Resources Director at Best Studio Ever, a collective of body piercing and tattoo studios headquartered in Eugene, Oregon, with 12 locations across Arizona, California, Oregon, and Washington. With over a decade of experience in Business Administration and Human Resources, Hilary specializes in cultivating strong workplace cultures, boosting employee engagement, and helping small businesses establish successful HR practices.
Since joining Best Studio Ever in 2020, she has been passionate about supporting creative industries and the talented artists who make them thrive. Outside of HR, Hilary is a professional opera singer and body suspension performance artist. She lives in Vancouver, Washington, in a cozy 1920s home with her two beloved dogs, Benny and Riley.
Hilary Whitmore is also a visionary opera singer, actress, ritualist, and the creator of Operafication, a groundbreaking performance art project that combines opera, experimental vocals, live instrumentation, movement, and ritual with the art of flesh hook suspension. Since 2003, Operafication has captivated audiences across four continents, from grand performance halls and art museums to hidden tunnels beneath train stations, Hilary explores the expressive potential of body suspension by using the suspended body as a powerful vessel for creative communication. Her work challenges conventional boundaries, blending vulnerability and strength to evoke powerful emotional responses. Whether on stage or collaborating with fellow artists, Hilary continues to push the limits of artistic expression, captivating and inspiring all who witness her work.
