AI, AI, AI: The other side of artificial intelligence in the Piercing Industry

Artificial Intelligence is everywhere. From social media captions and logo generation to customer service and education, AI is rapidly becoming part of everyday life in the piercing industry. But what exactly is AI, how does it work, and what are the hidden costs behind its convenience? This seminar provides a beginner-friendly introduction to artificial intelligence before examining the ethical, artistic, and environmental questions surrounding its use. Topics include how AI models are trained, data privacy, artist consent and compensation, misinformation, environmental impact, and the growing tension between automation and human creativity. Rather than telling attendees whether AI is good or bad, this session aims to provide the knowledge needed to make informed choices. Participants will leave with a better understanding of the technology itself, its real-world consequences, and how to engage with AI in a more intentional and responsible way should they decide to continue to use it.
