History of Western Piercing from the 1890’s through the 1990’s in North America and Western Europe: the Dark Ages through the Renaissance. This 90 minute class covers the second half of that period.

This lecture traces important technological advancements and cultural events affecting social attitudes and proliferating corporeal modification, shown primarily through the varied practices of body piercing.
